VersaLASERs come in two sizes; the VL-200 which is a 12" x 16" laser and the VL-300 which is the 12" x 24" version. The VL-200 comes in either a 10, 25 or 30 watt version while the VL-300 also offers a wider variety of wattages ranging from 10 to 50 watts, with the most common being 30, 40 or 50 watts.

Place hands up behind the light shield or diffuser, with palms facing out toward the front of the unit. With fingertips, push out toward the front of the unit, thus lowering the top of the shield out. With the top of the shield out, push the bottom up and out off the pegs holding it in place, thus removing the shield. Remove the old light bulb.

Try setting the focal height again, switch off PC and laser and reboot / connect, let the "Z" axis home and jog it to position 0.000. Try fitting the setting tool under the red anodised plate, if it fits snugly then the setting for the Z axis is OK. If your laser is old it may need a replacement laser cartridge.

My VersaLaser VL200 with accessory air cleaner cart says it' carbon filter is expiring (6% life left). It needs an 18 digit activation code to reset the counter. There' nothing physical in the filter that tracks this, and there' all of probably $20 of activated carbon in there. Yet, Universal Laser charges over $300 for a new filter.
